Coffee in Vietnam

I was in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam right before the new years day for the Luna Year.

It was my first time to visit the country.

As I normally do, I visited coffee shop to have a cup of coffee.

They will bring a dripper and a hot pot.

When drip is done, you add hot water.

I enjoyed the whole process.

Do you enjoy the process of making coffee?

the aroma?

the taste?

or .....the effect (caffeine)?

I enjoy drinking the coffee more than making it. I enjoy watching you hand-grind the beans and pour hot water over the grounds. In your "Cha-no-yu"-like rutual.

Best coffee I've ever had was Kona Organic Peaberry that Carol Kappu brought back from Hawaii. Remember?

I like the aroma and the people I drink it with. Although a really good cup of coffee when I am alone adds depth to my reflections....okay, I really like the buzz....

I drink decaf so it's about the taste. Jim and I found it difficult to find decent coffee in Japan. We are spoiled because we are well-stocked with a variety of high quality flavored beans.
